She was also Assistant Principal Examiner of English Language GCSE. When not working, Jane likes to spend time with her husband and children who have also come to join the Wellington family. In no particular order, she likes to bake and run and is looking forward to spending time familiarizing herself with some Chinese literature.

    新版92最新福利Toby joined Wellington College International Tianjin in its founding year and has witnessed much of the school’s development and change. He currently leads the provision of pastoral care across the College and is the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and Child Protection Officer. He is also a CIS Accreditation Evaluator with experience of team visits in the Asia Pacific region. Toby is currently completing a dissertation on principals’ sense making and decision making in international educational leadership with the University of Bath. He is a graduate of music from the Royal Northern College of Music and has previously won a number of awards for his original work. He enjoys playing the timpani in school productions. Toby has two sons at the College.

After completing a degree in graphic design with a specialism in narrative and editorial illustration in Southampton, he went on to study for his PGCE at the University of Bristol, before going on to teach in the city’s first Academy. In the 8 years he spent at the same school he also fulfilled the roles of 2nd in department and Student Achievement Coordinator for years 9, 10 & 11. In 2008, Ready for a change of scenery, Ed came to Tianjin where he worked for 6 years at another local international school. During this period, he held various posts including Head of Art & Graphics, Key Stage 3 Coordinator, Key Stage 4 Coordinator and, eventually, Head of Secondary. In 2015 Ed was awarded a Master’s degree in education from the University of Nottingham which included a great deal of research into the experiences of East Asian students working in a Western educational context. In his spare time, Ed can be found practicing Taijiquan in the local parks, playing his guitar, painting, drawing and spending time with his wife Lydia and their son, Samuel.

After graduating with Honours from the University of Edinburgh he spent some time working primarily in the production and manufacturing sector of engineering. For many years he has volunteered his time to work with children and young adults and this prompted his decision to change career and retrain to become a Mathematics Teacher. He underwent his PGCE at Durham University, after completing this course 2012 and working in UK he chose to combine work and his passion for travelling and learning about other cultures and joined Wellington College in 2013. He has a range of interests including photography, trekking, camping and scouting which he has taken around the world from the Highlands of Scotland to the jungles of Borneo via the glaciers of New Zealand. This range of skills has added some exciting opportunities to our After School Activities programme as Eamonn looks to introduce the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme at Wellington.

    新版92最新福利Megan graduated from the University of Lancaster with a degree in History and completed her teacher training at the University of Birmingham. She remained in Birmingham for the next 4 years, teaching History at an outstanding secondary school. During this time Megan also completed a Masters of Education degree in Teaching Studies at the University of Birmingham; her research-led dissertation focused on the impact of teacher feedback and peer assessment in History lessons. Megan also took on responsibility as a whole school Teaching and Learning Coach disseminating best practice across the school, worked as an examiner for Edexcel and was Head of the History department during this time. In August 2015, Megan moved to Bangkok to teach Secondary History and Humanities. In addition to her teaching responsibilities she was responsible for Gifted and Talented provision across the school from Early Years to the Sixth Form. A key part of this role was responsibility for the school’s World Scholar’s Cup debating programme, including coordinating a trip from Bangkok to the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in the USA and organising and hosting the Bangkok regional round of the competition at her school in March 2016.

    新版92最新福利Born In South Wales, Faye studied Piano and Clarinet at the Royal Welsh College of music and drama as a child, later she went on to study at the Birmingham Conservatoire for four years, gaining a BMus(hons) in piano performance. Faye followed her passion and was accepted at the Krakow academy of music, where she studied with one of the greatest Chopin specialists in Poland. As well as being a solo and chamber music performer, Faye has accompanied for Ballet, Opera, and numerous choirs, and previously worked at the British International School in Krakow as the principal music teacher where she taught throughout primary and secondary for three years. During her time there she was the musical director of three ambitious and highly acclaimed musicals, Elton John and Tim Rice’s ‘Aida’, Broadway’s’ The Little Mermaid’ and Macy’s ‘Yes Virginia’. Faye is very excited to exercise and broaden her music teaching experience at Wellington, and is committed to helping students develop their talents whilst nurturing their passion for music.

    Ian Wood, having studied at Crewe and Alsager College and graduating with a distinction in Craft Design and Technology in 1989, has gained great experience working for 12 years at The Allertonshire School and subsequently 15 years as lead Product Design teacher, at Bedale High School, in North Yorkshire. For 13 of the 15 years at Bedale, Ian was involved in pastoral support as the Head of Year and with the introduction of a new vertical tutoring house system, a Housemaster. Ian has been a staff governor and parent governor for over 12 years. He has a keen love of the outdoors and has been until recently involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and latterly as a member of the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team.

    Madeline Churchill arrived at Wellington Tianjin in 2014 after spending eight years teaching Art at Wellington College in the UK. Madeline studied Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Fine Art, Oxford after which she was invited to complete an Artist’s Residency at the Red Gate Gallery in Beijing. She continues to combine her artist practice with teaching and recently completed her MA with distinction at the University of the Arts, London. Madeline is also a keen musician and plays the violin whenever she can. As a teacher, Madeline is dedicated to helping her students reach their full potential, aspiring to the creation of ambitious and exciting artwork at every level.

    Richard completed his degree in Secondary Physical Education at the University of Cumbria in Lancaster in the United Kingdom. After completing his studies he moved to the West Midlands to teach Secondary PE, teaching students from Year 7 to 13, including GCSE and A Level PE for the next five years. Alongside his teaching responsibilities Richard was also Progress and Development Leader for Year 10, tracking and monitoring the progress of students across Year 10 and putting into place academic and pastoral interventions to ensure they made excellent progress in their GCSE subjects. Richard moved to Bangkok, Thailand in August 2015 to teach Primary and Secondary Physical Education in a British International School, teaching students from Year 2 to Year 13 including coordinating and devising a new primary PE curriculum. Richard was also responsible for overseeing the introduction of BTEC courses in the Sixth Form which included developing and teaching the BTEC Physical Education course. Richard has years of experience in teaching a variety of sports and activities, ranging from football and cricket to swimming and golf. When he is not teaching PE, you are most likely to find him playing football at any given opportunity.

    After completing her Maths degree at the University of Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia, Maja trained as a teacher at the largest Serbian secondary school in Novi Sad. Maja volunteered in a variety of schools in Portland, Oregon, including one which was a special high school for students in a rehab and treatment facility. On a personal level, Maja is particularly interested in fighting for human and animal rights, including campaigning on behalf of the Roma population of Serbia. In addition, last year Maja adopted an abandoned puppy, who will be joining her soon in Tianjin. Maja is an avid Backgammon player, both on and offline, and hopes to spread that love among the students of Wellington College in Tianjin.

    Gianpaolo is thrilled to be joining Wellington during such an exciting time for the school. This is his third position in China, first coming to the country after being awarded a Master’s Degree from Bangor University in 2013. He started his time here teaching undergraduate students whilst completing research on agricultural genetics at Jianghan University, Wuhan, before moving to Shanghai to teach senior students at a bilingual boarding school. Gianpaolo is keen to pass on his sense of awe and respect for the natural world, whilst encouraging his students to develop a strong scientific mindset and critical thinking skills which will serve them well no matter which route they choose to take in the future.

He holds a degree from Kenyatta University specializing in Physics. Before coming to teach in China, Mr. Gitata taught A Level and IB Diploma Physics internationally and Kenya’s earliest IB school, Saint Mary’s School in Nairobi. Mr. Gitata is an examiner with Cambridge Assessment, marking CAIE Physics Paper 2 as well as IB Diploma Mathematical Studies, SL Paper 1 and IA. Outside the classroom Mr. Gitata is a passionate volleyball coach and enjoys music when playing guitar.
