The Orange is named after Prince William of Orange (1792-1849). Prince William was given command of the Allied I Corps at Waterloo even though he was only in his twenties.
Students of the Orange think highly of the Wellington values and try to live them at school. The motto of the Orange house is Happy, Safe and Proud. They are working hard to develop and improve their own abilities and enjoying school days learning and playing happily and safely. They are well aware that they should achieve academic and non-academic excellence around the school in order for them to feel proud. The Orange has strong student leadership; the house head, the deputy head, student council leaders and the house activity managers. The student leaders respect the house and serve the house and the Wellington community. They aim to be caring young leaders and to be examples to the younger Orange members. The Orange has great tutors and all of them are dedicated to look after their tutees and support their school life:
